The U.S. Department of Agriculture released their August Crop Production and World Agriculture Supply and Demand Estimates reports on Friday
Friday reports were generally friendly to corn and wheat, with lowered yield expectations, it was bearish soybeans.
The USDA’s next round of production numbers is out September 12th.

WASDE report , Production is increased to a record 779.6 million tons, primarily on higher production for Russia, Australia, and China.
Russia’s production is raised 6.5 million tons to a record 88.0 million on both higher harvested area and yield. Harvested area increased for both winter and spring wheat on updated area data from Rosstat, Russia’s statistical agency.
The outlook for 2022/23 U.S. wheat this month is for increased supplies, higher domestic use and exports, and reduced stocks. Supplies are raised on higher production with all wheat production forecast at 1,783 million bushels, up 2 million from last month.
The first wheat shipment out of Ukraine since the war with Russia broke out is bound for Africa to support the region as it grapples with severe drought, the UN said on Friday.
Spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters that the cargo vessel Brave Commander, cleared under a deal brokered by Turkey and the UN, departed from Istanbul on Wednesday after an inspection.
The ship is setting sail for the Horn of Africa nation of Djibouti with the wheat set to go to the World Food Program's operations in Ethiopia to support its drought response efforts as the threat of famine stalks the region.
"This is the first shipment of humanitarian food assistance under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," Dujarric said.
Ukraine has exported more than 370,000 tons of grain, mostly corn and other foodstuffs, in the first week following the announcement of the grain deal to address global food insecurity, according to the UN.
Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine signed the landmark deal on July 22 to reopen three Ukrainian ports -- Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhny -- for grain that had been stuck for months because of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war that started on Feb. 24.

Friday reports was bearish soybeans.

The USDA has lowered their outlook for this year’s corn crop, while raising the estimate for soybeans slightly.
Corn production is expected to be 14.359 billion bushels, down 146 million on the month with a cut 1.6 bushel per acre cut in the yield estimate due to hot, dry weather in some key U.S. growing areas, now at 175.4 bushels per acre. Planted area is now pegged at 89.821 million acres with harvested area at 81.84 million, both 100,000 less than the July report. In 2021, production totaled 15.115 billion bushels with an average yield of 177 bushels per acre and harvested area of 85.388 million acres.
The USDA has lowered their outlook for this year’s corn crop, while raising the estimate for soybeans slightly.
